Anindya Harchowdhury
PhD (IIT Bombay–Monash) · Senior Technical Lead, Robotics & Embodied AI · SLAM · Localization · Sim2Real
I build autonomous robotic systems spanning perception, localization, navigation, motion planning, and embodied AI — from research prototypes to production deployments on humanoid, mobile, and off-road platforms.
I am currently Senior Technical Lead at Novus Hi-Tech, where I lead robotics AI stacks including humanoid/mobile manipulation, fail-safe GPS-denied localization, off-road autonomous navigation, and scalable ROS 2 software infrastructure. I invented RBLAM (reflector-based localization and mapping), deployed at multiple industrial customer sites, and led India’s first off-road autonomous navigation system for a tracked platform (DRDO) with multi-modal fusion (LiDAR, EO/IR, IMU), elevation mapping, and predictive control.
Research background: MS (Research) from IIT Kharagpur (ISRO-sponsored satellite AIS simulation) and PhD from the IIT Bombay–Monash University Research Academy on sparse 3D sensing, dynamic object tracking, and perception-aware motion planning. Publications in IEEE RA-L, IROS, and Elsevier Mechatronics.
Research interests: robust localization and SLAM in dynamic environments, multi-modal sensor fusion, visual-inertial odometry, embodied AI, Sim2Real, and learning-enhanced state estimation.
